The joints of the body are at work, even when you are sitting or standing. They support the body in an upright position. They enable you to move. And they cushion and support the bones of your body during every activity.

So, it’s no surprise that the joints are vulnerable to a variety of problems.

Some problems are minor and short-lived. For example, the “weekend” sports enthusiast may experience a day or so of muscle soreness and some tightness in the joints after playing hard simply because the body isn’t conditioned for that level of work. Other problems may be severe, long-lasting, or degenerative, meaning that the joint undergoes changes that worsen over time.
