The Importance of Staying Warmed Up
To further reduce the risk of injury among youth baseball players, Darren Lunow, M.Ed., ATC, LAT, certified athletic trainer and coordinator of Central States Orthopedics’ Sports Medicine Outreach, said players need to stay warm – and warmed up.
“The problem most players face is getting up to the plate in a properly warmed up manner, especially after sitting on the bench or in the dugout,” said Lunow. “This can be very challenging during the cool spring days of little league and high school baseball season.”
Lunow reminds youth athletes to dress for the weather and keep moving throughout games and practices.
Central States Orthopedics is proud to be affiliated with Tulsa Tide Baseball in addition to 15 high school athletic programs to support area coaches and trainers with excellent sports medicine care, training and injury prevention.
